Mysterious Ways

A friend once told me we are all like spinning balls in the universe. We gravitate, collide, orbit one another for a time and then move on through space. Maybe to fall in each other's orbit again, maybe not. I am enjoying some red wine this evening and I am fondly remembering those whose orbits are on new trajectories. Whatever the circumstance, it really doesn't matter. The important thing is what is left behind - a lesson, a feeling (whether warm or cold) or an idea - these are the forces that shape us. The mystery is in how we will adapt the experiences and lessons learned to help us move forward, if we are indeed evolved enough to allow that to happen...

Nice dude-
I like that line of thought.
It's nice to take out and reflect.

Awesome Chris. I really love this thought of yours. It's so very true.

And here I am, mulling over my life with a glass of red wine, with my partner and dog on the way home after a near-miss accident on an icy road in the Welsh mountains - in the courtesy car.

Tonight I am just glad they are still alive, and on the way home.

Life can seem fragile sometimes...

SNOW by Louis MacNeice

The room was suddenly rich and the great
bay-window was
Spawning snow and pink roses against it
Soundlessly collateral and incompatible:
World is suddener than we fancy it.

World is crazier and more of it than we think,
Incorrigibly plural. I peel and portion
A tangerine and spit the pips and feel
The drunkenness of things being various.

And the fire flames with a bubbling sound for world
Is more spiteful and gay than one supposes –
On the tongue on the eyes on the ears in the palms of your hands –
There is more than glass between the snow and the huge roses.
